Leather Hides & Lots
We create our leather starting with U.S. full grain hides and finish into aniline and semi-aniline leathers. Aside from some technical advances within the mechanical and chemical industry, many of the processes from “wet blue” to finished leather are the same as they were in 1863.
Our heritage was built from the knowledge gained by five generations of experience, when Auburn Leather first began. We learned that producing superior leather means buying the best hides, premium oils and agents, and careful processing.
Naked, full grain drum dyed aniline or semi-aniline, chrome and alum tanned for maximum strength.
OTHER FINISHED LEATHER:
Chrome and alum tanned for weather resistance
Chrome tanned and tumbled for light pebble finish and soft hand. Water repellent added to minimize water spotting
This finish developed for application on re-purposed leather.Chrome tanned; waxes and oils applied with the intent of minimizing correction in order to highlight natural imperfections.
